I never liked the fact China having taken a Communist path into the modern world. Even today, I still don't like it. But more recent observations may suggest that China by destiny should never ally with the west in the first place. 分道揚鑣 has been necessary from the very beginning. The weight of the Chinese civilization wouldn't allow it. And the west would never feel comfortable about it either. This fact is only surfacing more and more recently.
I begint to believe that China has a larger duty for the modern world, far larger then "rising", "reclaimming" or being "No.1".
