In memory of the laughter rolling in some summer nights from my childhood 
 

heartbeats
punctuating 
the endless 
Time:  a river 
without banks
taking in everything
flowing 
silently 
in the universe
 
clock striking 
at midnight
a fish 
carrying a violin 
soaring 
into the night sky
playing the song 
nostalgically
commanded 
by God
 

you and me
floating 
in the river
gazing
into each other 
and through
across the ruins 
of memories 
 
and, the smell 
of hay
drifting
In the milk

of moon-
light
