he relies too much on being "in the zone" to perform. when he's hot handed and stoked, he could make some very tough shots and great plays. but when he's cold, he's deplorable. such polarized showings are symptoms of shaky foundation. because he's unsure of his shots, he's reluctant to take them. when defense is smothering, he's hesitant to drive for fear of turn over. at this stage, everyone knows lin is capable of sparkling performances once in a while, but his inconsistency is killing him. a constant, stable and reliable production is what he needs to become a solid starter. than he can worry about becoming a star next.
