Quarterback -- 四分衛

昨晚 oldpp 問為什麽 QB 叫四分衛 ，我開玩笑說因為他隻值 75 cents ,  意思是可以有一個 quarter back 。說笑歸說笑 ，下麵是我答應給老片片的解釋 ，如有不對的地方請壇裏橄欖迷們指正 。

橄欖 （ 美式足球 ）是從 rugby 演變而來的 ，因此有些稱號和規則也沿用下來了 。比賽時 ，進攻方和防守方各有 11 個球員在場上 ，任何一方如有12 個球員在場上會被判罰 ，但少一人則是合法的 （ 我記得是如此 ）。

進攻時 ，站在 linemen 後麵的有三個球員 -- quarterback , halfback / tailback 和 fullback ，這三個球員組成 backfield 。從 line of scrimmage 算起 ，quarterback 站在 backfield 1/4 的距離處 。也許這就是為什麽 QB 被稱為四分衛 。：）
