 then Lin can score or pass, at will. When there is a better offensive guard in Harden on the court, picks will be mainly set for him.

Unless Lin plays with a garbage team with garbage teammates, that's not going to change. Playing with Kobe, under coach D or E or F, those picks will be set to free up Kobe. It's about probability.
