Rockets report: NBA 3-point record close at hand

The Rockets are 50 3-pointers shy of breaking the NBA record for made 3s in a season. They average 10.6 3s per game. The Orlando Magic averaged 10.3 per game when they set the record of 841 3-pointers in the 2009-10 season. The Rockets lead the league with 791 3s this season and rank ninth in 3-point shooting percentage, making 36.7 percent of their 3-pointers.

After going 10 of 30 from beyond the arc on Wednesday, the Rockets are 29-13 in games in which they have made at least 10 3-pointers. They set the franchise record for 3s in a season on March 15 against the Timberwolves.
