NBA Game Summary - Golden State at Houston
Houston, TX (Sports Network) - Jeremy Lin paced Houston's red-hot shooting attack with 28 points to lead the Rockets to a 140-109 drubbing of the Golden State Warriors on Tuesday.
Lin made a game-high five 3-pointers for the Rockets, who tied an NBA record with 23 3-pointers. Houston finished 57.7 percent (23-for-40) from long range to pick up its fifth win in six games.
James Harden and Chandler Parson each knocked down four treys en route to 18 and 16 points, respectively.
The Rockets had several opportunities to make the record-setting 24th triple, but the Warriors repeatedly fouled Houston over the final minute.
Jarrett Jack scored 20 points and David Lee netted 18 points and pulled down seven rebounds for Golden State, which had a four-game winning streak snapped.

Jeremy Lin made sure the Golden State Warriors remembered that they had waived him two off seasons ago.
Lin, who figured in 29 games for the Warriors during the 2010-11 season scored a game-high 28 points, while the Houston Rockets dropped an NBA record-tying 23 triples, en route to a 140-109 blowout, Tuesday (Wednesday, PHL time) at the Toyota Center in Houston.
After being waived by the Warriors, Lin was picked up and waived again by the Rockets, before heading over to New York and sparking "Linsanity." The Knicks would later opt not to re-sign him to a long-term deal, allowing him to return to Houston.
The win allowed the Rockets to improve to 27-23, moving up to a loss behind the Utah Jazz, who occupy the seventh seed out West. Golden State on the other hand fell to 30-18, tying them with the Denver Nuggets in the fifth and sixth slots.
An explosive first quarter saw the two squads combine for 75 points in 12 minutes, with the Rockets up by a hair, 38-37. Houston managed seven straight to start the second quarter however, putting them ahead for good.
Later in the second, three straight triples by Toney Douglas, James Harden, and Patrick Patterson gave them a double-digit lead, 61-49, and then another 9-0 run near the end of the period inflated their advantage to a commanding 77-59 at halftime.
David Lee scored the first points of the second half in an effort to spark his team, but a 16-2 counterattack by the Rockets dashed that comeback try, arming them with a 93-66 score.
Come the fourth, seven unanswered by the Warriors made it 115-97, 7:22 left to play, but another dry spell on offense by Golden State gave way to nine straight for Houston, rebuilding their buffer to 124-97 with five minutes remaining.
Still, there were some fireworks left in the game, as rookie Draymond Green and Marcus Morris were thrown out late, the former for a flagrant 2 foul, and the latter for technical fouls.
Lin's 28 points came on 10-of-16 shooting, plus a 5-of-8 clip from downtown, in addition to nine assists and a steal. James Harden added 18 points and seven more dimes, while Chandler Parsons added to the barrage with 16 points, 12 from downtown.
Overall, the Rockets shot 23-of-40 from outside the arc. In fact, they shot better on triples, 57.5 percent, than they did in-close, 45.1 percent.

Game 48: Houston 140, Warriors 109
HOUSTON – If Houston’s seven three-pointers in the first quarter weren’t enough to offer the Warriors a hint.
And the Rockets’ seven three-pointers that followed in the second quarter didn’t quite provide the Warriors with a clue.
They should have gotten the sign at halftime, when the Rockets’ hula-hoop-bellied mascot, Clutch, walked onto the Toyota Center floor and calmly swished his first attempt at a halfcourt shot.
The Rockets couldn’t miss, and the Warriors wouldn’t defend.
Despite all of the signs, Tuesday’s 140-109 loss at the Toyota Center turned into an embarrassment for the Warriors as Houston piled up records in front of a near sellout crowd.
On a night during which they led by as many as 29 points and had reached 100 with more than 13 ½ minutes remaining, the Rockets (27-23) tied the NBA record with 23 three-pointers in the game and tied the league mark with 14 threes in a half.
Many of those who remained for the entire game stood in the final two minutes and chanted for the Rockets to attempt a three-pointer that would set the NBA record. With 1:36 left, they joined in a “One more three, chant.”
Instead, Draymond Green flagrantly fouled Patrick Beverley before he could attempt a three on the next possession, and both benches stood and glared at each other. The Warriors then intentionally fouled the Rockets on the ensuing two possessions, so they could not try a record-setting three-pointer.
Former Warrior guard Jeremy Lin made a career-high five three-pointers for a team-high 28 points, James Harden made four of his five three-point attempts for 18 points, and Chandler Parsons added 16 points on four threes.
Jarrett Jack had 20 points and five assists off the Warriors’ bench, and David Lee added 18 points and seven rebounds. But the backcourt of Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson combined for just 13 points.
Maybe more disconcerting for the Warriors was their long stretches with a lack of fight.
As the Rockets scored an NBA season-high 77 points in the first half, the Warriors’ shoulders started to slump. As Houston continued its three-point onslaught after supposed halftime adjustments, the Warriors repeatedly looked in question at their coaching staff.
The Warriors (30-18) had won seven of their past nine games, but they’ve dropped 15 of 17 to the Rockets, including nine straight in Houston. The Warriors have played five of their past seven games on the road and will have played eight of 10 away from Oakland by the end of this four-game roadie.
It won’t get any easier Wednesday in Oklahoma City, where the Warriors play the NBA’s top-scoring squad without center Andrew Bogut (left ankle) anchoring the defense.
Just think, the Rockets were only the league’s second-best scoring team. Still, they made 14 first-half three-pointers – something only three other teams had done in the history of the three-point arc. They demolished their franchise record of 17 three-pointers in a game by six.
They shot 77.8 percent from three-point range in the first half, but only 41.4 percent from inside the arc. Oddly enough, it was back-to-back two-pointers that gave Houston its largest first-half lead – 77-59 with 3.3 seconds left.
Houston made seven first-quarter three-pointers against the slow-to-contest Warriors, who have limited opponents to fewer than seven threes in for entire games 18 times this season. The Rockets used their sharp shooting to take double-digit leads three different times in the first quarter, including a 29-19 lead with 2:33 remaining.
