Jeremy Lin got hurt in practice Monday (Feb. 4) with the Houston Rockets. Lin's injury hasn't been classified yet, but it has to do with his ankle and could possibly lead to him missing time. According to a report, he is being called a game-time decision for Tuesday's game (Feb. 5) against the Golden State Warriors. The good news, though, is that the report stated that it "did not appear serious."
It would be very bad news if the Rockets lost Lin for any length of time, especially as the team is trying to cement a slot in the Western Conference Playoffs. The team has four games this week, so this is also a very importunate time for him to tweak that ankle. It's certainly possible that it will turn out to be nothing and that Lin is ready to go against the Warriors, but this is one of those injuries that have to be taken seriously. A point guard is nothing without his ankles.
With Jeremy Lin hurt, the Rockets would look a lot different on offense, so the hope is that this injury is only minor. During his first season with the Houston Rockets, Lin is averaging 12.2 points, 6.1 assists, 3.7 rebounds, and 2.04 steals per game. Those are pretty good numbers and he has proven to be very valuable with James Harden beside him.
