Houston Rockets Sign Patrick Beverley

It has been reported that the Houston Rockets have signed guard Patrick Beverley.

Beverley is a 6’1, 180 pound point guard. He played college ball for the Arizona Razorbacks for two years. He then left to play overseas, which is where he has been ever since. He was drafted by the Los Angeles Lakers with 42nd overall pick in the 2009 NBA Draft, but was traded to the Miami Heat. At 24 years old he has never played an NBA game, but it looks like that may change soon.

He has won multiple awards overseas including the Eurocup Mvp in 2012. He’s definitely a combo guard who thinks shoot first, pass second, similar to Toney Douglas. But with his height he will definitely have to play mostly point guard in the NBA. He’s very athletic and definitely fits into the style of play the Rockets run. Unlike Douglas he is more of  volume scorer than just a shooter. He likes to get in the paint and make things happen.

There has been no word on who the Rockets will cut to make way for Beverley. But all signs point to point guard Scott Machado.

Patrick Beverley To The Rockets?

Former Chicago Marshall star Patrick Beverley is expected to sign with the Houston Rockets any day now.  Although he signed a guaranteed contract with the Miami Heat two years ago, Beverley has yet to play in an NBA game.

Beverley had been playing with Spartak St. Peter*****urg in Russia.  He was the MVP of the Eurocup last year.

Beverley starred in college at Arkansas.

Beverley was part of an Illinois Class of 2006 that also included Jon Scheyer (Duke), Sherron Collins (Kansas/Charlotte Bobcats), Jerome Randle (California) and JaVale McGee (Nevada/Denver Nuggets).
