by this argument,can anyone lose a football game singlehandedly?

it's no excuse. no matter you are a first year starter or 10-year veteran.

you can argu that one play might not disaqualify him as a good player, but for this specific play , for this specific game, he singlehandedly lost it , as least in my opnion :-)
