Byron Scott made a deal with the devil he was fully aware of

when he signed with the Lakers for the head coaching job.  By agreeing to steer the Lakers to the bottom of the pile two years in a row while allowing Kobe Bryant to free lance Byron Scott willingly traded away his coaching career for his retirement fund.  He was, by all means at an extremely difficult situation after consecutive, unsuccessful stints with the Hornets and the Caveliers.  And in spite of leading the Nets to two NBA finals, it was widely speculated in the NBA that the success was attributed more to Jason Kidd than Scott.  Regardless of the reasoning behing Byron Scott's decision to reach a deal with the Lakers, what transpired after two miserable seasons and his eventual release could only mean that it would be a long while, if ever before we can expect to see him dressed as a head coach for any team in the NBA.
