stopped @2:01, which means that the Pats have 1 TO left plus 2 minute warning even the TD stood. The Giants had to do 2 point conversion (less than 50% success rate league-wide) if they wanted to have a 7 point lead. It gave the Pats too much time to tie the game up or to win if the 2 point conversion failed.
I would call three consecutive running plays to kill the clock & consumed the Pats' last TO. It would leave around 1:15 to Tom Brady before kicking the field goal.....big difference.
The Giants had several misuses on the last 2 minutes.
On offense: 1. the WR ran out the bound, which the clock stopped at 2:10; 2. not calling one running play & I have no idea what they did on the second down.
On defense: 1. dropping the easy interception; 2. giving 5 yard cushion on the Pats' last pass.
On Beckham TD. It was on him. He should have it if he had two hand holding onto the ball. Normally a WR would grab the ball from the air & put the ball toward the chest to secure the ball. Instead, OBJ tried to show off his one-hand TD catch after he caught the ball. He is still young & he should learn to put the team ahead when the game is on his hand.
