登高⑴

杜甫

風急天高猿嘯哀⑵， 渚清沙白鳥飛回⑶。
無邊落木蕭蕭下⑷， 不盡長江滾滾來。
萬裏悲秋常作客⑸，百年多病獨登台⑹。
艱難苦恨繁霜鬢⑺， 潦倒新停濁酒杯⑻。

The wind is severe and the sky is high, the apes in sorrow sadly cry,
The islet is clear and the sand is white, the birds are now flying back.
Swirling and swirling, the boundless defoliations are falling down,
And rolling and rolling, the endless Long river is coming by.
I've alway been a guest, in this sad fall of three thousand miles, 
A hundred year old with many kinds of illness, I alone step on the tower high.
Hardships, bitterness and regrets, increased white hair of mine
Feeble and decadent recently, I stopped the cups of turbid wine.

注釋譯文

詞句注釋
⑴登高：農曆九月九日為重陽節，曆來有登高的習俗。
⑵猿嘯哀：指長江三峽中猿猴淒厲的叫聲。《水經注·江水》引民謠雲：“巴東三峽巫峽長，猿鳴三聲淚沾裳。”
⑶渚（zhǔ）：水中的小洲；水中的小塊陸地。鳥飛回：鳥在急風中飛舞盤旋。回：回旋。
⑷落木：指秋天飄落的樹葉。蕭蕭：風吹落葉的聲音。
⑸萬裏：指遠離故鄉。常作客：長期漂泊他鄉。
⑹百年：猶言一生，這裏借指晚年。
⑺艱難：兼指國運和自身命運。苦恨：極恨，極其遺憾。苦，極。繁霜鬢：增多了白發，如鬢邊著霜雪。 繁，這裏作動詞，增多。
⑻潦倒：衰頹，失意。這裏指衰老多病，誌不得伸。新停：新近停止。重陽登高，例應喝酒。杜甫晚年因肺病戒酒，所以說“新停”。[2][3][4][5]
