當你老了

當你老了，滿頭白發，嗜睡不停，

在火爐邊磕頭打盹，時睡時醒，

你取下這本書，慢慢細品，

在夢中追憶過去,

你眼中曾有的溫柔和深深的眼影。

多少人愛你快樂優雅的瞬間，

用真情或假意愛你美麗的容顏。

但有一人愛你遊蕩尋覓的孤魂，

愛你日漸枯萎的臉上哀怨悲憐。

佝僂著身子，旁邊爐中的木塊熊熊燃燒發亮，

你喃喃地自語，帶著一絲感傷，

這一份真愛是如何逝去，

他又如何緩緩地走到高高的山上，

將他的臉龐在璀璨群星中隱藏。

When you are old and grey and full of sleep, 

And nodding by the fire, take down this book, 

And slowly read, and dream of the soft look 

Your eyes had once, and of their shadows deep; 

How many loved your moments of glad grace, 

And loved your beauty with love false or true,

And loved the sorrows of your changing face;

那柔美的光芒與青幽的暈影；

多少人真情假意，愛過你的美麗，

愛過你歡樂而迷人的青春，

唯獨一人愛你朝聖者的心，

愛你日益凋謝的臉上的衰戚；

當你佝僂著，在灼熱的爐柵邊，

你將輕輕訴說，帶著一絲傷感：

逝去的愛，如今已步上高山，

在密密星群裏埋藏它的赧顏。
