It seems like it's not necessary to use spot metering. I assum the pic wasn't cropped very much, I don't see a big light contrast in the photo, and you used exposure compensation, I think that's not necessary if you really want to use spot metering.
Anyways this is not a big deal, the photo is still great. I guess exposure is the lest impotant thing in digital photography. But when photographer shows the exif, it shows the thought of photographer. One of the reasons the high end photographers don't wanna show photo's exif is they don't wanna show their mistakes.
