During the exhibit, everyone seemed to be sucked in by the unflickering light. The somewhat faded paint looked even brighter after so many decades.

Mom said: "If you sit still for a while and look at them without thinking, they begin to make sense . . . . "

I was awashed by a sudden wave of happiness.
