Cancer-stricken woman secures prospective home for her dog
According to 9 News, the Colorado woman with terminal breast cancer, who struggled to find a home for her beloved dog, "Sherlock," has secured a potential adopter.
In early April, a nationwide plea was made to help find a home for Pat Cudd's five-year-old pit bull mix. Prior to the story hitting the media, Cudd had searched for a loving home for her beloved dog, but her quest had been fruitless.
Today, with the help of many people who reached out to lend a hand, the search appears to be over.
Sherlock's new owner is ready to take him in, but they are allowing Cudd to spend as much time with her companion as she needs. Cudd stated:
"That particular prospective owner is willing to give me time to be with the dog as long as I can. And is willing to take the dog when I'm ready,"
The outpouring of support from the community has touched Cudd - a Loveland resident opened her home to Cudd, who now enjoys beautiful accommodations rather than the small hotel room which she previously shared with her dog. She was also given an honorary diploma from the Colorado State University where she has been working to secure her master's degree.
With the help of a compassionate community, Cudd has been given a precious gift...peace of mind
