Previously Neglected Pit Bull Will Teach You About Forgiveness
When Adora the pit bull was only 4 years old, her body was disfigured. Her cruel owners made her give birth to litter after litter. It was probably hard for the dog to keep track of just how many puppies she had.
The day before New Year’s in 2012, Adora’s previous owners surrendered her to the Humane Society. They claimed they couldn’t keep her because of a move, but it was obvious that they just used her to breed until she was sick and broken. Adora’s belly and itchy, red, infected skin were obvious indicators to the volunteers.
With the help of shelter volunteers and many kind people, the pit bull soon realized there was more to life than cruelty and cages. She learned how to love. Soon, it was discovered that she had the perfect temperment for a therapy dog and after only a few months, Adora became a Certified Therapy Dog.
Instead of greeting humans with fear, Adora embraces and loves everyone she sees. She greets people with kisses and a wagging tail; she doesn’t care that she was abused before. All she cares about now is that she is happy and she wants to make YOU happy.
We could learn a thing or two about forgiveness from this dog.
