Even animal experts get lost explaining cat's 200-mile journey home
1 day agoThe journey took almost two months and 200 miles. When Holly the housecat finally turned up, she'd lost half her body weight and her paw pads were bloody. But she was also just a mile from the West Palm Beach home of her owners Jacob and Bonnie Richter, who had lost her at an RV rally. Alas, Holly can't tell humans how she found her way home, and animal scientists are stumped. Sense of smell? Following the ocean? Using AAA's TripTik? Maybe some things should remain a mystery. "Nobody's going to do an experiment and take a bunch of cats in different directions and see which ones get home," said behaviorist Peter Borchelt. [Source]
