My heart was broken sore and fast the day my owner died.
I cried and cried and cried and cried and cried and cried and cried.
Cody brought me to the shelter where I found new friends.
But cats were jumping—cats were scratching—cats were everywhere!
Where was my bed? Where was my home? Where was a place to hide?
I cried and cried and cried and cried and cried and cried and cried.
One day a lady came to me and gave me gentle love.
She pet me soft; she pet me long; she said she really cared.
I told her how I lost my home. I told her how I cried.
I told her that I had to leave; I had no place to hide!
I told her, “Take me home today!” I told her, “Do it now!”
She said she loved me very much, but had to wait somehow.
She came to see me every week; I loved her gentle touch.
Again, I said, “Please take me home! You love me very much!”
She told me that she had to wait; she did not live alone.
She had to ask somebody else because she had no home.
I didn’t know just what she meant. I cried and cried and cried.
I cried and cried and cried and cried and cried and cried and cried.
Every week she came and went, and left me all alone!
The cats were pouncing, running, bouncing. And mops were scaring me!
Then a man came in to say he’d take 2 cats away that day.
The covered box was sitting there; it was so dark inside!
I went in there, and finally, a perfect place to hide!
But then the Sammy cat came in; we both were carried off!
The ride was long and scary too, but then he set us down.
I walked out with the other cats, and yes, we looked around.
It was a lovely place to be, but then I wondered why
My mommy friend was never there, and I began to cry!
Within 2 days I found myself back at the “Cats Galore”.
They told me, “Wait for just a day to see what was in store (for me).
That Saturday—that special day—I never will forget. The DAY my mommy came to
say, “It really pays to pray!”
She brought me home. She gave me love. She fed me, held me, kissed me.
I purred and purred and purred and purred and purred and purred and purred.
Now if the angels up above are watching all of this, they’d surely say that I am living in
a state of bliss!
And if you ever wonder why a kitty cries and cries, just take him home and you will
learn the kitty heart inside.
For kitty cats are lonely folk, unless they have a LOVE, who watches over them each
day like angels from above.
And now I’m happy all the time. I run and eat and purr.
I play with mommy every day. I also sleep with her.
She feeds me lots. I’m getting fat!
She says I’m funny, too!
But you know what? I’m happy now!
Adopt a cat, and you’ll be, too!
