關於奧斯卡獎無依之地的導演趙婷說的原話。2013年，趙婷在她的interview中說，

美國新聞中這樣報道，“It goes back to when I was a teenager in China, being in a place where there are lies everywhere," is from a 2013 interview with Filmmaker Magazine. ” 她提到了西部文化，但是並非指西部文化和中國一樣到處是謊言， 非常明確地講是中國。

她在後來的interview 中說，美國“ is not my country, ultimately ”. CNN報道時改成“是我的祖國,ultimately ", 之後，又出了更改。她說，她總是感覺是個外人，原文是outsider。
