It shows that china is not ready for war with Japan or anyone else for that matter. China is not as strong as Xi believes or else china wouldn't have so many political issues. A war would only exacerbate the situation and china may have internal challenges to CCP. China is not united and ready for war or else china wouldn't have so many internal issues. With a disunited china, any war would mean that not only would china be fighting an outside battle but it would give internal enemies a chance to take down the ccp.
