(BFZT)在美國80年代的主流金屬版圖上，這支樂隊雖然沒有像BON JOVI ，GUN ‘N’ ROSE等樂隊那樣成為大紅大紫的國際大牌樂隊，但他們對金屬音樂的貢獻卻是無人能夠否定的，直到今天每當聽到Tom Keifer 那火辣辣的嗓音，還總是興奮不已。他們選用的樂隊名Cinderella（灰姑娘）被認為缺少重金屬氣質，但這正體現了樂隊華麗、雌性的風格和打扮。
Cinderella 是由費城兩位經驗豐富的酒吧樂手Tom Keifer 以及 Eric Brittingham ，在1985年發起成立的。吉他手 Jeff Lebar，樂隊的主唱 Bon Jovi ，鼓手 Fred Coury 隨後加入。1986年6月 Cinderella 發表了他們的第一張 Glam Metal 風格的專輯《Night Songs》，專輯銷售出了200萬張。Cinderella 一夜之間從一個 Club Band 變成 Rock Star。
1988年，樂隊推出了第二張專輯《Long Cold Winter》，樂隊吸取了大量布魯斯音樂的精髓，並把它加入到他們所擅長的硬搖滾中去，這種音樂風格正好適合 Keifer 的嗓音，樂隊受到了一係列的好評，專輯的銷量達到600萬張。
樂隊巔峰之作當屬在1990年推出的第三張專輯《Heartbreak Station》，每個吹毛求疵的樂評都不得不對它停止了批評，哀怨的布魯斯與激烈的硬搖滾聚在一起湊成了一鍋美味的大餐，加上吹奏樂器的大量使用，弦樂部分由 Led Zeppelin 樂隊的元老 John Paul Jones 安排，Cinderella 已成為一支非常優秀的搖滾樂隊。
1993年，Cinderella 的事業遭到幾個嚴重的打擊。首先是主唱 Tom Keifer 患上了聲帶結節並且日趨嚴重，然後 Fred Coury 離開了 Cinderella 加入了 Arcade 樂隊，但更不幸的是 Tom Keifer 的母親去世，可以想象這對 Tom Keifer 的打擊有多大。直到1994年，Cinderell a才出版了第四張專輯《Still Climbing》。這首“Hard to Find the Words” 便出自這張專輯。然而此時的樂壇已是非主流當道，Cinderella 所擅長的 Pop Metal 已是強弩之末。《Still Climbing》沒有得到預期的成功，銷量遠未達到白金數字（100萬張），成了80年代重金屬衰落的標誌。
1995年，Cinderella 匆匆結束了一次短暫的巡演便在人們的猜疑中解散了。
隨著重金屬音樂開始複蘇，Cinderella 又開始活躍起來，樂隊成員又重新聚在了一起。1997年，在唱片公司熱心支持下 Cinderella 推出了一張名為《Once Upon A...》的精選專輯。1998年 Cinderella 展開名為 "Unfinished Business" 的巡回演出，收到了很好的效果；2000年夏季，Cinderella 與 Poison, Slaughter 和 Dokken 等團體共同舉行巡演。2001推出專輯《Down Street》。
