沉寂之聲是 Paul Simon 於1964年。歌曲於1965年在波士頓WBZ台開播，立刻在Harvard 和 Tufts 校園內流行。幾天內唱紅美東。
2015年，Heavy Metal Band Disturbed 將該歌重新配樂演唱，使該歌再登榜首。
歌詞的寓意隱晦，聽者自由釋解。本人最愛的幾句
