I ordered a plane ticket from an agent and send them a check for the ticket fare. Later I changed my mind and canceled the check.
Now the agent told me they have issued the ticket and ask me to pay them.
1. Do they have to make sure they received funds before they issue a ticket?
2. If I do not pay, what are the legal consequences?
Thanks.
Advise please.

In general, a contract does not have to be written down.
