You dont want to be too creative on this. Just be humble and you get better result that way.

99% the law is at their favor. 1% give special circumstance. You might or might not qualify. Best way to do is be nice. You have better chance to win that way. If you fight for the 1%, you are not going to win.

your problem is that you did not get their permission to park in the guest parking.
