Insurance company can only suggest what they felt is the right charge amount. They can not do anything at all. The most they can do is give a bad rating for the doctor. If the doctor get too many bad ratings, the insurance company can kick him out of the covered list.
If the doctor insist, he/she has to pay.
Do you research and ALWAYS ask how much out of your own pocket. All doctors have to tell you the amount of money you pay out of your own pocket.
