您的合約上說的是...
if you quit on or before the second anniversary of the dire date, the sum of $10,000; if you quit on or before the third anniversary of the hire date, the sum of $5,000(or such other sum as is derived by subtracting $10,000 from the total costs incurred by us on your behalf).

如果您在不滿兩年的情況下離職,您需要支付$10000.並沒有說您需要支付整個數字的2/3. 比例數學在這個情況可能並不適用
當然您可以與您原來的僱主商討一個解決的方式.
