Once you are married, your marriage certificate is the legal paper for you to change your family name. You can go to your local Social Security Office and show your marriage certificate and your ID, you will be issued a new Social Security card (same number) with your hu*****and’s family name as your last name; and update you Social Security records. You can still keep your own family name as your middle name

If you do not like your first name, you can just use the first letters of your first name and middle name, such as J.C., or you can give yourself a nickname, which is rather common in U.S.

If none of the above will satisfy you, you can go to the court, pay a fee, and have your first name and last name legally changed to whatever you wish to be called.
