Are you sure your contract with the phone company says 'terminate service after one year' or something similar? Many companies would have contract that says 'automatically renew every year unless customer request termination'. So it's possible that the service was automatically renewed in their system so your card is charged.
Always remember to TERMINATE the service in writing or by calling, even when the contract says 'automatically terminate'. You cannot expect the company to know all their customers' living condition or whether they moved out and don't need the service anymore.
Now, what you can do is to call the phone company immediately to see if they can credit back the money and terminate the service. The worst would be that you can't get that money back, but at least you won't need to pay another year again. If the company is a good company, they will credit back your money.
This has NOTHING to do with your credit card so don't reply on them disputing this charge for you. You should take care of it yourself.
