apt, by which way should i return the chair?

SHould i return it without been seen or show up?
I think there are 2 ways to return the chair.
1. return the chair without being found. After returning it, make a call and tell the store the chair was returned. This way may not let them withdraw the charge.
2. I show up and return the chair. I think i can persuade them not pressing the charge, but i am sure the store will ask me to pay a fine or blackmail be for not pressing the charge , perhaps $500 or $1000. The owner and staffs are vietnamnese.
