I feel a little betrayed, to be honest with you. You seem more concerned about staying in the US than doing justice and getting the batard any retibution. I have no knowledge of your current status. If you are an F-1, you do not need to deal directly with him or the head of your department on this matter. Where you are on a different status, you may need his signature (I am not an immigration lawyer), but I believe that either he or the school is prohibited from retaliating you by refusing to assist you in changing your student status. The least I can assure you is that, even if you have lost your legal status and would be deported, the court will issue an order permitting you to stay through the trial because you are the plaintiff and/or a necessary witness. It is you who were sexually assaulted and/or harrassed and it is up to you to stand up for yourself.
