求助：租客的狗把鄰居的貓咬傷了，這鄰居要告我

今天收到律師信，租客的狗把鄰居的倆隻貓咬傷了，medical bill 3萬。鄰居要求精神損失fee$7萬+，說可以付3萬settle. 要不兩星期後要告landlord. 

我不知道這個租客養狗，申請上寫no pet。

詢問租客後得知，租客的孩子有自閉，是emotional support dog. husky。 大狗。有醫生信件做證明。

這下子eviction 也不可能了。

有經驗的人給點意見如何處理？非常感謝！
