Prosecutor cannot get you civil restraining order (from family court), they can only get you criminal restraining order (from criminal court, free of charge for you).  Your best bet to get a restraining order is to help prosecutor to convict your former bf.

If they drop the case now, prosecutor will not help you anymore, you have to spend your own money / time to obtain a civil restraining order (from family court).
