車禍收到傳票如何處理

今天收到路州法院的Citation。對方要求事故索賠，沒有具體數額，但是立了很多項，很緊張，求幫助！

事情是這樣的，去年六月老公在路易斯安娜工作，左拐時被迎麵來的直行車撞了，警察判老公是failed to yield. 對方一直向保險公司索賠，今年三月收到保險公司email讓我們準備找律師，因為保額（3萬）馬上就要用完了。今天的傳票也寄給我們的保險公司了，我們該如何處理？將來會發生什麽事情。

還有，今天的傳票應該是對方繳了$400元開始起訴我們了。具體起訴的內容有誤，對方說紅燈她停下了，我老公撞到她的車，其實是她直行撞到我老公的.可是我們沒保留警察的記錄，繳罰單時沒有留copy。 

請教問題，

1-如何到警察局拿到去年的車禍記錄？

2-保額過了以後保險公司還應該幫我們出庭嗎？

3-我們在底特律，（老公就在那工作半年）將來需要去路州的法庭？如何請律師？
