The deed's description traced back to the early last century, and only my neighbor's property did a survey in the 1980s. I went out and did some measurements, and found that it's highly likely that the iron pipes the surveyor planted were at the wrong place...
Usually a new surveyor would use the iron pipes as reference point to generate new survery, but since these reference points were wrong, the new survey would be wrong too...
My problem is to find a surveyor to perform a survey according to the deed, and not to use that old survey as reference point. That involves more work, and would render the new survey to be in conflict of the old survey. That might be the reason that it's difficult to find such a surveyor willing to do this type of work...
