法律是不僅僅是道德，還有其他公共政策考慮

中國人算是有道德吧，可是隻有經過思想啟蒙的英國殖民者想到了這個法律:

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

我有時候再想中國所謂精深的文化道德到底有什麽用處，怎麽連這個也想不到：

No person ... shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself, nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation.

21世紀的中國大陸還是沒有這個法律。香港還是繼承英國來的。
