Foreign Educated Applicants
First time applicants whose legal education was obtained outside the United States and who have not been admitted to practice law in any United States or foreign jurisdiction must request an evaluation of foreign law study from the Office of Admissions to determine eligibility to take the bar examination. It is recommended that this be done before filing the application for the examination to avoid paying the application fee, a portion of which is not refundable if the applicant is not eligible for the examination. The following documents must be submitted:

An Application for Evaluation of Law Study Completed and Contemplated, with the required fee;
A detailed, course breakdown evaluation of all post-secondary education completed by a credential evaluation agency approved by the Committee of Bar Examiners;
Certified transcript of all post-secondary education, which must include the beginning and ending dates of enrollment, each class taken, the grade or mark received for each class, and the date the degree was awarded;
A registration application, with the required fees.
Note: Documents in a language other than English must be accompanied by a notarized translation by a disinterested party.

Please refer to the bulletin for foreign law school graduates for any additional information.
