If you had a learner permit (after passed the written test but before you pass the road test), you can drive on public road with an adult who has vaild driver license in the vehicle with you. Driving alone is not allowed.
If you had a temporary driving permit (after you passed both written and road test) but under 18 years old, you also need to drive under supervision by a licensed adult in the vehicle. Driving alone is also not allowed in this case.
If you were in one of the above cases, then no way you can get away from it. No need to go with atterney since they are asking $500 that is more than the penalty. Atterney also does not guaranty they can dismiss your case but they will guaranty collect $500 from you.
Just go to the court and plea reduce penalty in front of the judge and go to the traffic school to clean your record.
That is the violation
