No contest means surrender, don't do that

Surrender means pay full penalty.

You need to do the best to convince the judge that you did not intent to do that and plead guilty at the end and ask reduce penalty.  How to convince a judge is all up to your personal speech level.

Ask the judge if this is going to be in your driving record. If not, no worry. If yes, ask if that is eligible for traffic school.
