I am serious. I avoid living in town homes or apartments precisely because potential noise issues. Many shared walls have little sound protection. If you are serious about the problem, replace your existing drywall with soundproof drywall. It might cost some money (a few thousand), maybe you can pick only one room to sound proof instead of the entire shared wall. It is better than fighting with neighbors.
