Appeal is not something that you can do on your own. Most family law attorneys do not do appeal due to the difficulties. Appeal takes time, about 2 years, and a lot of money (initial filing about $1000). There are lots of technicalities involved, from time to file, notice of appeal, format of your brief, to even color of paper you use. You could end up spending a lot of money and a lot of time but at the end got your brief thrown out for a small technical error. It is to argue why the trial judge was wrong as a matter of law, not about fact finding. If you really want to appeal, you need to find a good attorney specializing in that area.
