is the place you live for the longest period in the calendar year. However, the insurance underwriter may have its own rules defining primary residence. Another words, the primary residence for the insurancce company may not be the same as the primary residence on your tax return. You may want to ask the insurance company why your new purchase is considered your primary residence. I am not sure what potential problem it may cause in the future though
