人到底有幾根fingers?

記得很久以前跟一個老外同事聊天，忘了當時說的什麽事兒了，我說“十根手指頭伸出來還不一樣長呢”，他微笑著聽完我說，然後慢慢地、小聲地說“八根”
“What?”
“Eight, eight fingers.”
…從那以後才知道，在老外的概念裏，thumb不算finger，所以，每個人隻有八根fingers。

昨天跟老婆講起這個典故，老婆做頓悟狀，“怪不得他們數學不好呢，滿手數來數去也數不到兩位數！”
