As long as you have received your case number, this is totally normal. You need to wait about one year. For your reference, here is our timeline:

3/2003 submitted our initial application including FBI.
5/2003 got the case number.
2/2004 received medical form requesting us to take physical exam. Request update our FBI and W2/Payroll copies.
10/15/2004 physical exam (we delayed our exam becuase of our baby's birth).
4/11/2005 notice of completed application and request our passports.
4/17/2005 mailed out our passports and are expecting to receive them with landing papers within 15 business days (according to the statement in Canada Immigration Office letter).
