Mine was approved in Feb, I specified my starting date in May in my application. If you didn't do it, you need to start asap if you could. Wouldn't you boss want you to start soon? if not, bring your approved H-1B to your HR and let your boss know you are ready to work.

Generally, boss doesn't worry about your visa, and only cares about when you can start to work.
