-Yes, of course. Just write a letter to explain it and return the NVC notice with the letter back to NVC.
還是說一定要請律師？
在給移民局寫信告訴他們停止領事館處理時還要寫理由嗎？
-Not need. NVC does not care about it. You pay the fee, they process your case. You request stopping the pocess, they will not process it. It does not matter to them.

請教8老師。我是美國公民。我父母2019年12月用探親簽證來美國，現在一直和我住在一起，在美國。短期內也不打算回國。我在2022年4月給他們提交了130，但是沒有交485。我以為交了130就可以待在美國了，也沒有給他們辦探親簽證的延期。另外，在130的表上，我同時提供了在美國調整身份和領事館麵試兩個選項。因為是填電子表格，移民簽證麵試的地點是在中國廣州領事館。我父母的130上個星期批了，但是NVC說是要聯係廣州大使館讓我父母去麵試移民簽證。我到兩天前才明白我父母算是不小心沒身份（快兩年半了）。
現在有兩幾問題：1. 我想讓他們在這裏調整身份，不想他們回中國廣州領事館麵試。我需要填什麽樣的表格撤銷領事館麵試嗎？還是說寫信給移民局說明情況就可以？
-Just respond to NVC that your parents have filed I-485 Adjustment of Status within US and ask NVC to stop processing the cases in NVC. That is all.
2. 我現在就可以給他們遞交485嗎
-Yes, they need to file the I-485 as soon as possible now.. They had better not leave US before they get the green card because they have been unlawfully present for more than one year.
還是說得等到移民局批準我們撤銷領事館麵試才成？-No
