master: Here is the letter from my university IO:
Because you are named on an NIH letter as receiving funds from them it is
unlikely that you will have a favorable Advisory Opinion from the State
Department, they will most likely say that you are subject to 212.e Because you
are subject due to NIH funding, you may not be eligible for a No Objection
waiver from the Chinese government. As we discussed an Interested Gov Waiver is
difficult, takes about 2 years, and only about 7-10% are approved.
Is that true by what my IO said?
-Don't think it is true. Many of Chinese J-1 holders funded from US Agency or Institutions got J-1 waiver all the time. You may just show them the NIH document I cited and ask them to assist you and ask them not to care about whether you will get the waiver or not.
