H1B visa

My petition for I-140 under EB1A was approved, now I am planning to submit
I-485 for permanent residence.
But my H1B visa will be expired in the end of this year,my H1B visa started from Feb. 2006. During my application of GR, could I extend my H1B visa, how many years I can hold H1B visa before I get GR
