My son's case has not been updated to post decision, although we both got the welcome letters at the same time. Do you think his status is also ready for stamp? Can he go to apply his social security number by using the welcome notice or he has to wait until either the green card or get the stamp on his passport? He is leaving next Saturday for China. He has AP, there should not be problem for him to come back, right?
